There is no bigger star in South India than Rajinikanth. He has a passion that Indian heroes don't have. Therefore, every movie he makes creates a great sense of euphoria. Still, the buzz that 'Kabali' has generated in recent months is unprecedented. The movie's trailer set a new record in the United States. A special flight was arranged for the film's premiere. That kind of enthusiasm takes precedence. Now the question is, did this movie live up to all the hype? Let's check it out. Story:

Kabali (Rajinikanth) was sentenced to 25 years in prison in a Malaysian case. The story begins with his being released from prison. Kabali establishes a school for young gang members to escape from the mafia. When the young gangsters ask him how he ended up in prison, he reveals his story. He marries Kundanavali (Radhika Apte) and soon becomes a gangster. A gang member (Kishore), jealous of Kabali's rise, plans to kill him and his pregnant wife. In this attack, Kundanavali is killed, and her angry Kabali kills her. Kabali ends up in jail.

Now, due to sudden events, he meets his daughter (Dhanshika) and also finds out that his wife is still alive and living in India. Kabali flies from Malaysia to India, but the road to his wife is fraught with problems. Artist performance:

You can see a different Rajinikanth here. He's really great at playing older roles. Her smile, her expression, the way she walks—everything is wonderful. In the scene after the break, where he goes looking for his wife, you can see his great acting. For fans expecting catchy lines, there's not much to enjoy, but I do enjoy his acting and mannerisms. This movie is completely Rajinikanth's. He is the soul.

As usual, Radhika Apte gave a commendable performance. There are a lot of Tamil actors that we know very little about. Among them, Dhanshika is the best. She steals the show.

Superior technology:

"Kabali" has high technical value and rich production value. The camera work is top-notch. Some action stunts are good. Although the song is disappointing, the background music by Santosh Narayan is perfect. The cut is clean, but the second half should be shortened. Telugu dialogues are good.

highlight:

Rajinikanth, Rajinikanth, Rajinikanth

Disadvantages:

boring script

slow pace

lack of entertainment

No punch dialog

The second half is a melodrama.

lack of novelty

Too much violence

confusion

analysis:

First of all, Kabali is very disappointing. This movie is completely different from what the trailers and song teasers suggest. As the trailer suggests, this is not a completely commercial movie. If you are expecting a mafia-don movie like 'Kabali' or 'Basha' after watching the trailer, then you have the wrong impression.

Forget about trailers and hype. Kabali is a confusing drama. Half the movie seems to be all about family drama, but his last half hour presents a completely different picture: a gang war. The story begins with an old man, Rajinikanth, coming out of prison. The initial settings are great. Director Ranjith portrayed the superstar as an old man searching for his family and roots. This emotional buildup is perfect in the first 20 minutes.

Problems began when he learned that he had a daughter, and then it turned out that his wife was still alive. From here, the story goes in a different direction. Rajinikanth tries to find his wife, Radhika Apte, in a very boring manner. Interval shooting and popping are quite interesting.

The second half begins with Rajinikanth going in search of his wife. When he finally found Radhika Apte, the director focused on another aspect of the film: the conflict between the two gangs.

There are no moments of relief, no songs, no comedy, no punchy dialogue, and no strong villains. It is only at the climax that we see Rajinikanth's heroic deeds. Before that, there are gunfights and other violent episodes that have nothing to do with the main plot. And what is this movie about? I don't understand. Had Rajinikanth acted as the savior of Indians living in Malaysia, history would have been different. But he is not the savior. In reminiscences, he is said to have fought for the rights of Indians to work on plantations. There, we can see the true heroism of Rajinikanth. But then the same gang shootout occurs again.

Also, there are too many dialogues and scenes in Tamil. When Rajinikanth talks to the children studying at his juvenile detention center, it's like watching an undubbed Tamil movie. We don't understand the drama that is unfolding there. There are too many absurd sequences like this.

What we expect from a Rajinikanth film is an escalation of heroism, stylish dialogues, and some good action episodes. But all we see is him wearing a different coat or suit and smiling. There are very few great moments for him. A long episode in which Rajinikanth tries to find a wife stimulates sleep.
