The business world is moving deeper into the "cloud" by the minute, and it can be difficult to keep up with the rapid changes in technology. Technology makes work much easier and increases productivity. To help you get started, I'd like to share with you some of my personal favorite apps.

WinSplit Revolution:

The best window organization utility available. Quickly organize your workspace into a beautiful, easy-to-read grid without overlapping anything. This reminds me of Windows 7's ability to dock windows to the left or right. Most of us have too many tasks, so we have too many windows open at the same time on a given working day. Therefore, you can always use this tool wisely. If your screen is similar to mine and you waste a lot of time moving windows, you'll appreciate this app.

Ultramon:

This app is perfect for people who use multiple monitors and want 10 more. It can be frustrating to have multiple monitors and a cramped taskbar that's limited to just one monitor. For purely organizational reasons, an extended taskbar is ideal. This app extends the taskbar to all monitors while providing additional tools for use with additional monitors. A fun feature of UltraMon is the background option. It's probably at the bottom of my list of productivity tools, but hey, I like it. UltraMon gives you incredible control over your desktop background, allowing you to easily distribute an image completely to any number of monitors or different images to all monitors. You can also set a custom screensaver and custom icons.

This is the key to optimizing remote support. As always, we love free apps, but this app has a few other little perks as well. For one, there are no cumbersome desktop drivers. Instead of remembering all your machines or logging them elsewhere, you can create an account with Team Viewer to store all this information. Simply choose between remote control, file transfer, or VPN, and connect. If you work with multiple clients, of course TeamViewer will not be installed on all clients. This usually makes remote support a difficult and time-consuming option, but with TeamViewer, you can ask your customers to download a quick installer, and a user ID and password will be generated very quickly.

Dropbox:

Nowadays, everyone uses or should use online storage as a solution. Dropbox allows you to sync apps across multiple devices, making it extremely accessible. You can also share files and folders with other users. While you may already have a great CPA website design with file sharing capabilities, Dropbox is an invaluable tool for many businesses that operate without access to this technology. Free accounts come with 2 GB of storage, and you can instantly get up to 8 GB of storage when you recommend Dropbox to a friend. We also offer 50GB for $99/year and 100GB for less than $200/year.
