Many Crock Pot recipes only take 5 to 10 minutes to prepare. I throw it in the slow cooker before work, and it's ready when I get home. When you open the door, you'll notice the wonderful aroma of home-cooked meals wafting throughout the apartment.

Chili recipes are perfect for the crockpot. Usually cooked in one pot, they are easy to prepare and give off delicious aromas while cooking. The great thing about chili peppers is that you can easily change and adjust them to suit your tastes. Here are some quick and easy crockpot chili recipes.

What you need:

2 pounds of round steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
15 1/2 oz can of kidney beans, washed and drained
1 medium onion (chopped)
1 bell pepper (chopped)
2 cloves of garlic (chopped)
2 cans (8 ounces) of tomato sauce
4 1/2 ounces canned green chiles, drained and chopped
28-ounce can of diced tomatoes, undrained
1 T chili powder
1 teaspoon of cumin
2 tablespoons of olive oil
1 teaspoon salt

What you do:
Heat the oil in a large frying pan and fry the meat. Add meat to the slow cooker. Add the remaining ingredients to the pot and mix well. Cover and simmer on low heat for 8 hours. sausage and beef chili

What you need:

3/4-pound spicy Italian sausage, bulk
3/4-pound ground beef
1 bell pepper (chopped)
1 onion (chopped)
16 ounces of dried red beans, washed and drained

1 can (28 oz) and 1 can (14.5 oz) of diced tomatoes, undrained
15-ounce can of tomato sauce
6 oz. cans of tomato paste
4 tablespoons of chili powder
Powdered cumin 2T
2 cloves of garlic (chopped)
1 teaspoon salt

What you do:

Brown the beef and sausage in a large skillet and drain. Combine all ingredients in a 6-quart crockpot or slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, until the beans are tender but not mushy.

Both recipes taste great when topped with sour cream, cheese, and green onions. If you want to add more heat, try a few jalapeños, a few sprinkles of hot sauce, or red pepper flakes.
