Today we will outline the process of selecting a diamond concrete grinding pad. Perhaps one of the biggest and most important questions when deciding to sand a concrete floor is which diamond pad to use. They come in a variety of forms, each with a different composition for different uses.

The first is a black compound labeled "VA." It is a "hard bond" composition used for grinding soft or rain-exposed concrete, as well as for grinding and removing abrasive surfaces, hardened adhesives, and mortars.

The second is a silver or gray connection labeled "M.". This is a medium bonding agent designed for use in medium-strength concrete and a type of concrete called terrazzo that is composed of marble chips, quartz, granite, glass, and other bonding materials.
Third, there is a white mixture labeled "H.". This is a diamond mixture designed for hard concrete, such as that found in most construction sites, residential slabs, and large textured concrete pores. This compound is usually considered "universal" and is a good panacea for most tasks.

Fourth, the compound of silver and gold is "VH,"  which stands for very hard concrete. It is primarily reserved for concrete with a high megapascal number and long curing times, used in large and complex structures.

Once you have decided on the configuration type, you can choose the shape of your diamond blade. There are four main types of shapes that work in a sandpaper-like system: They range from coarse "low-grit" pads for quick bulk removal to finer "high-grit" pads for finishing and smoothing.

A. The initial diamond pad shape is a 16-grit arrow segment. This arrow segment is specifically designed for heavy sanding to remove volume as well as paint, adhesives, and epoxy coatings. It leaves a scar that other concrete coatings often adhere to, but you can use one of the following pads to smooth it out.

b. The second is a 30-grit rectangular segment. This applies equally to aggressive sanding and is most often used for the first pass to achieve the desired level of aggregate exposure.

C. His third shape for the concrete slab is a 60-grit oval segment. This segment shape is designed to be used as a "second cut" to easily remove and smooth out severe scratches caused by the first pass. D. Finally, the fourth shape is a 120-grit circular "button" segment. This rounded concrete diamond pad is the finest grit of all to date and is used for the "third cut" that removes all scratches from previous passes, leaving the concrete surface with a very fine and smooth finish.

Just install it. Or place the magnetized side of the pad over the three retaining pins of the machine's shoe.
